I was at a stop light waiting to turn right on red and this guy gets out on the passenger side of a van in front of me. He proceeds to cross traffic to the opposite side of street and picks up an item on the sidewalk. It had dropped from the back of a wheelchair. The guy in the wheelchair didn't know he had dropped anything and you could see the look of gratitude on his face. The gentleman simply returned the fallen item to its rightfull place and returned to his waiting van.
I thought of the movie "Pay it Forward" and wanted to help someone myself. Unfortunately the opportunity didn't present itself or I simply wasn't looking hard enough. I was getting frustrated that I couldn't find a "good deed" for the day, gave a homeless guy a couple of bucks and went home. Then I realized that maybe the car behind me saw what I did and will do something for someone else later. Kind of a duh moment for me. Sometimes the things we are looking so hard for truly are right in front of us and all we have to do is quit looking past them.
My goal is to hear about something good from each state - please share with me but....Only the good news!
